South Korea to donate 2.6 million pesos to modernize Mérida hospital

The Republic of Korea and the government of Yucatán have agreed to collaborate on the modernization of the Hospital de la Amistad Corea-México in Mérida. This partnership aims to strengthen the facility's capacity and transition toward an integral rehabilitation model serving children, youth, and adults.

During a meeting between Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena and South Korean Ambassador Jooil Lee, it was announced that South Korea will donate 2.6 million pesos in radiodiagnostic equipment to enhance the hospital's technological capabilities. The initiative focuses on infrastructure, innovation, and the transfer of specialized medical knowledge.

Governor Díaz Mena noted that the hospital's modernization is part of a broader strategy to bolster medical services within the Ciudad Salud zone. This effort aligns with Yucatán's integration into the IMSS-Bienestar model to provide free healthcare services to the population.
