South Korea U-17 women's volleyball advances to World Championship round of 16
The South Korean U-17 women's national volleyball team has advanced to the round of 16 at the 2026 FIVB U-17 Women's World Championship. Led by coach Lee Seung-yeo, the team secured first place in Group D after a decisive 3-0 victory (25-10, 25-17, 25-18) against Algeria in Los Andes, Chile.
South Korea finished the group stage undefeated with five consecutive wins, having previously defeated Puerto Rico, Taiwan, Italy, and the Dominican Republic. Key performers in the match against Algeria included Jang Su-in, who recorded 13 points, and Eo Min-seo, who contributed 12 points.
Son Seo-yeon remains a standout player for the squad, currently leading the tournament in scoring with a total of 97 points. The team is scheduled to face the fourth-place finisher from Group B in the round of 16 on the 13th.
