Meta launches Pocket app for AI‑generated interactive experiences

Meta has released a new social application called Pocket that lets users create, share, and discover AI‑generated interactive items known as “gizmos.” Users can craft gizmos using text prompts or manual adjustments, then interact with them directly in the app’s feed by tapping, swiping, tilting, or using device sensors such as camera and microphone. The company says the interactions help improve Meta’s AI models. CEO Mark Zuckerberg has previously championed AI as a new social‑media platform, and Pocket is described as the realization of that vision. Meta acquired engineers and a non‑exclusive license from Atma Sciences, the creator of a similar app named Gizmo, to build Pocket. Access requires a Meta account.
