South Korean actor Shin Hyun-joon visits Guayaquil

South Korean actor Shin Hyun-joon, known for his role in the drama ‘Stairway to Heaven’, is visiting Guayaquil, Ecuador, as a guest for the Budokan 2026 convention. The Asian pop culture event took place on October 17 and 18 at the Palacio de Cristal and Malecón 2000.

During his stay, the actor toured several iconic local sites including Las Peñas, Puerto Santa Ana, the Malecón 2000, and the Mercado Artesanal alongside his partner, Kim Kyung-mi. Shin Hyun-joon shared photos of the excursions on Instagram, expressing gratitude for the hospitality of the Ecuadorian people and inviting followers to visit the country, stating, “Come visit Ecuador! It is such a beautiful country.”

Upon his arrival at José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport, the actor was met by dozens of fans carrying flags from both Ecuador and South Korea, as well as banners and memorabilia from his television career.
