South Korean agencies address construction quality and labor rights

The Administrative City Construction Agency (ACCA) held a meeting of the Public Facilities Consultative Body to improve the safety and quality of public building construction projects. The meeting, which included public officials, construction managers, and external experts, focused on practical solutions such as leak prevention measures and improving the effectiveness of construction engineering evaluations. Younger officials played a central role in proposing ideas to enhance user convenience and building longevity.

In a separate labor matter, the Hyundai Steel non-regular workers' branch met with Dangjin City officials to discuss labor rights and safety. The branch requested local government support for direct employment, anti-discrimination measures, and the enactment of ordinances to support non-regular workers. They also proposed expanding the scope of incentives for workers affected by the crisis in the steel industry. Dangjin City stated it would discuss potential solutions with relevant departments.
