South Korean Ambassador visits Castel di Sangro to discuss regional collaboration
The South Korean Ambassador to Italy, Kim Choon-goo, conducted a historic first visit to Castel di Sangro in the L’Aquila province. The visit aimed to establish collaborative channels between the Alto Sangro region and the Republic of Korea, focusing on strategic sectors such as winter sports, tourism, and culture.
Accompanied by a delegation, the Ambassador met with Angelo Caruso, the Mayor of Castel di Sangro and President of the Province of L’Aquila. The itinerary included inspections of mountain infrastructures and winter sports facilities in the area, including Roccaraso. This visit builds upon existing international dialogues between Roccaraso and Pyeongchang County, the South Korean host of the 2018 Winter Olympics. Ambassador Kim emphasized the desire to intensify exchanges not only at a national level but also through direct cooperation between local territories.
