South Korean asset managers launch new semiconductor-focused bond-mixed ETFs
Major South Korean asset managers have launched new bond-mixed Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) designed for retirement pension accounts, focusing on semiconductor stocks and stable income.
Mirae Asset Global Investments listed the ‘TIGER Samsung Electronics SK Hynix US Treasury Bond Mixed 50 ETF’, which allocates 25% each to Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, with the remaining 50% in short-term US Treasury bonds. This structure allows investors to gain exposure to Korean semiconductors and US dollar assets simultaneously. Because it is classified as a bond-mixed ETF, it can be invested in up to 100% of retirement pension accounts.
Samsung Asset Management launched the ‘KODEX Korea TDF 2065 Active Qualified ETF’, a Target Date Fund that focuses entirely on domestic assets to eliminate exchange rate risk. It adjusts its ratio of Korean stocks and bonds based on the investor's target retirement year.
Korea Investment Management introduced the ‘ACE Samsung Electronics SK Hynix Plus Bond Mixed 50 ETF’. This fund splits its equity portion between Samsung Electronics (20%), SK Hynix (20%), and Samsung Electro-Mechanics (10%), with 50% allocated to domestic government and monetary stabilization bonds. Like the others, it is eligible for 100% allocation within retirement pension accounts.
