South Korean bakery tourism sees rise in
A growing travel trend known as "bread pilgrimages" is driving tourism in South Korea, according to data from digital travel platform Agoda. Driven by a vibrant cafe culture and bakery-themed events, travelers are increasingly visiting specific cities to visit renowned bakeries.
Goyang recorded the highest increase in accommodation searches at 22%, fueled by the upcoming "2026 Cafe & Bakery Fair Season 2." Daejeon followed with an 18% increase, supported by the city's reputation for the Sungsimdang bakery and local experiences like the "Bread Taxi." Jeongseon ranked third with a 17% increase, largely due to the "Bread Trail Run 2026" event.
Other top destinations for bakery tourism include Suwon and Seoul.
