South Korean baseball team targets China after loss to Japan

The South Korean national baseball team is preparing for a critical super round match against China at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in Toyohashi, Japan. Following a 0-5 loss to Japan, the team must secure a victory to maintain their chances of advancing to the finals and pursuing a fifth consecutive Asian Games title.

Doosan Bears pitcher Choi Min-seok has been selected as the starting pitcher for the upcoming match against China. Choi, who recorded 14 wins this season in the KBO League, previously delivered a dominant performance against Hong Kong, pitching two perfect innings with only 18 pitches.

The team's path to the finals depends on the outcome of other matches, including potential scenarios involving Taiwan and Japan's performance. The upcoming game is viewed as a vital opportunity for the squad to recover from their recent defeat and regain momentum in the tournament.
