South Korean biotech firms to present cancer therapy data at ESMO

South Korean biotechnology companies Parkcell Bio and ABL Bio are set to present clinical and preclinical research findings at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) annual congress in Madrid, Spain.

Parkcell Bio will present preclinical results for VCB-1201, a CAR-MIL therapy candidate targeting multiple myeloma. The study indicates that VCB-1201 demonstrates higher anticancer activity and better in vivo persistence compared to conventional peripheral blood-derived CAR-T therapies. The company also confirmed the feasibility of large-scale cell manufacturing.

ABL Bio will showcase data for its 4-1BB-based bispecific antibody immunotherapy candidates, Zivastomig (ABL111) and Lazistomig (ABL503), developed using its Grabody-T platform. Zivastomig, currently in Phase 2 trials in collaboration with Novabridge Bioscience, will have its safety and efficacy data from combination therapy with nivolumab and chemotherapy presented. Lazistomig will have its dose optimization data from Phase 1 trials disclosed.
