South Korean biotech industry holds strategic investment and R&D forums
South Korean biotechnology and pharmaceutical organizations held several high-level forums and strategic meetings in Seoul to strengthen the industry's global competitiveness. The Korea Drug Research Association hosted an investment forum featuring 15 promising bio-ventures presenting innovations in AI drug development, precision medicine, and tissue regeneration to approximately 150 investors and industry professionals.
Simultaneously, the Pharmaceutical and Bio-health Statistics Forum focused on using quantitative data to navigate global market trends, clinical trial developments, and M&A activities. To support practical business growth, the Korea Biotechnology Industry Organization conducted the Dealmaker Academy, training R&D and business development professionals on strategies for global technology transfers and clinical data validation.
Individual companies also announced strategic moves: Caregen held its Global Partners Meeting 2026 to discuss international sales expansion and new peptide technologies with global partners, while PromBio announced plans to liquidate idle assets to repay debt, reduce financial costs, and fund R&D for hair loss treatments.
