South Korean chrysanthemum festivals held in Incheon and Yeongju
Various chrysanthemum festivals are taking place across South Korea, offering seasonal displays and community engagement.
In Incheon, the Sudokwon Landfill Site Management Corporation is hosting the ‘2026 Dream Park Chrysanthemum Festival’. The event features a wide array of autumn flowers, including cosmos, sunflowers, and pink muhly, set against an eco-friendly wildflower garden. To adapt to climate change, organizers increased the proportion of resilient species like asters, zinnias, and marigolds. The festival includes cultural performances, environmental education tours, and a social economy festival aimed at supporting local social enterprises.
In Yeongju, the Sion Welfare Center is organizing its 6th annual chrysanthemum festival from November 2 to 6. The event showcases flowers cultivated by elderly residents at the facility. The program includes traditional performances such as saxophone, accordion, and wind flute music, alongside community activities designed to foster connection between the elderly and local residents.
