South Korean cities Cheonan and Daejeon host major bread festivals
Major bread festivals are scheduled to take place in Cheonan and Daejeon, South Korea, starting October 17. These events aim to celebrate local bakery culture through large-scale exhibitions, tastings, and hands-on experiences.
In Cheonan, the ‘2026 Bread Day’ will be held at the Cheonan General Stadium. The festival features 53 local bakeries and includes international baking programs from eight countries, such as Vietnam, China, and the Philippines. Highlights include a drone light show featuring 1,000 drones and various baking workshops. The event also integrates local agricultural products like pears and walnuts through a farmers' market.
Simultaneously, the ‘2026 Daejeon Bread Festival’ will take place at the Expo Science Park, featuring 120 local bakeries. The festival includes a ‘Bread Station’ where visitors can purchase signature items at discounted prices, a ‘Bread Gallery’ showcasing brand stories, and science-integrated baking classes. To accommodate visitors, Daejeon has arranged shuttle buses and significant parking capacity. The festival coincides with other regional events, including the Daejeon Content Fair and esports competitions.
