South Korean cities host events for Pregnant Women's Day
Local governments in South Korea are hosting events to commemorate the 21st Pregnant Women's Day, aimed at promoting maternal health and fostering a supportive environment for pregnancy and childbirth.
In Gangnam, the Gangnam District Council attended a commemorative event at the Gangnam Theater. The program included a special lecture by Professor Seok Jeong-ho on prenatal and postnatal mental health management, alongside promotional booths from local health and childcare centers providing information on support services. Council members emphasized the importance of social responsibility in supporting parents.
In Incheon, the city is organizing the ‘I-Sarang Prenatal Music Concert’ at the Incheon Culture & Arts Center. The event features a lecture on emotional preparation for expectant parents and musical performances by jazz piano and flute duos and saxophone players. The program also includes psychological testing for pregnant women and information booths regarding pregnancy and childcare, with free admission available to Incheon citizens.
