South Korean community groups hold Chuseok charity events for the elderly

Various community organizations and religious groups in South Korea held special events to support the elderly and vulnerable populations during the Chuseok holiday.

In Goyang, the Heindol Community Welfare Center organized a holiday sharing event involving donations and goods totaling approximately 17.3 million won. Contributors included the Korea Land and Housing Corporation Northern Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters, which provided 10 million won, as well as Korea East-West Power, Korea Expressway Corporation, and several other local institutions and schools. Volunteers assisted with food preparation, packaging, and meal service, including home visits for those with limited mobility.

Separately, Eunhye Kwangseong Church supported the Cheong-eum Welfare Center by donating 1 million won and providing a sign language performance for approximately 90 elderly individuals with hearing impairments. The church's sign language volunteer team performed familiar songs to facilitate communication and festive engagement during the holiday celebration.
