South Korean companies advance ESG through resource recycling and social initiatives

South Korean companies are expanding their ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives through resource circulation and social contribution programs.

Costal Co., Ltd. has integrated environmental protection with cultural exchange by hosting activities where employees, including foreign workers, create crafts from recycled plastics. This initiative, part of a three-year public interest program, aims to promote the value of resource circulation while fostering understanding among a diverse workforce. The company also maintains a partnership with the Gyeonggi-do Public Interest Activity Support Center to support non-profit social projects.

SK Ecoplant has surpassed 30,000 donated items through its ‘CE100’ (Circular Economy 100) campaign. Employees donate reusable goods such as clothing, household items, and small electronics to Goodwill Stores, managed in connection with the Miral Welfare Foundation. The proceeds and items are used to create jobs and support the independence of individuals with disabilities. The campaign includes participation from both headquarters and various business sites, such as Yongin and Cheongju.
