South Korean companies announce major construction and investment deals
Several South Korean companies announced significant business developments on September 9, including major construction contracts and international investments.
In the construction sector, Daewoo E&C and Dongbu Corporation have jointly secured a 689 billion won redevelopment project in the Sanggye 2 district of Seoul. This project involves constructing 2,200 housing units. Additionally, HS Hwasung confirmed a 129.5 billion won contract for the Bichitown street housing redevelopment in Daechi-dong, Seoul, while Seohan secured a 218.4 billion won contract for apartment construction in the Hwajeong 1 district of Ulsan.
In the technology and manufacturing sectors, Samsung SDI decided to extend a loan of approximately 1.065 billion USD to StarPlus Energy, a joint venture with Stellantis located in the United States. This funding is intended to support local production facilities. Meanwhile, Duksung announced an additional investment of approximately 10.6 billion won in its Indonesian subsidiary, PT. Duksung Ecotech Indonesia, to expand synthetic leather manufacturing facilities.
