Global corporations report diverse H1 2026 financial results
Various global corporations have released their first-half 2026 financial results, showing a mix of growth and contraction across sectors.
In Singapore, ST Engineering reported a 27% rise in net profit to SG$512m, driven by growth in Commercial Aerospace and Urban Solutions. In the semiconductor sector, SEMIFIVE saw a 97% year-on-year revenue surge, reaching KRW 94.7 billion.
Energy companies reported divergent trends. RWE AG saw adjusted EBITDA rise 43% to €3.0 billion, aided by improved wind conditions and new renewable capacity. Conversely, Korea Electric Power reported a first-half net income of KRW 2.80 trillion, while fuel costs rose 8.8%.
In the automotive and logistics sectors, Kia reported a 10.79% decline in net profit to KRW 4.16 trillion. HMM achieved a 10.2% operating margin, totaling KRW 623 billion in operating profit, supported by its ‘Hub & Spoke’ strategy despite Middle East conflict-related fuel costs. DeFi Technologies missed earnings expectations with a reported EPS of ($0.03).
