South Korean courts evacuated following bomb threat emails

Multiple South Korean courts, including the Cheongju District Court, Daejeon District Court, Incheon District Court, and Jeonju District Court, received threatening emails claiming that improvised explosive devices had been planted. The emails specified that explosions would occur between 1:34 PM and 7:30 PM.

At the Cheongju District Court, approximately 300 employees and judges were evacuated from the building following the report. Police special forces, military explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) teams, and fire authorities conducted a thorough search of the premises for approximately 90 minutes. No explosives were found, and court proceedings resumed in the afternoon.

The sender of the emails identified themselves as a member of a Japanese idol group who had been suffering from malicious comments and criticism following a contract termination. The individual expressed frustration with the legal system's inability to address their situation. Police are currently investigating to identify the sender and determine the exact circumstances of the hoax.
