South Korean cultural festivals feature Roh Moo-hyun biography and K-pop promotion

The 2026 People Living in the World Book Culture Festival is being held at the Roh Moo-hyun Citizen Center in Seoul until October 6. Featuring over 70 publishing companies, the event includes book talks, lectures, and various experience programs under the slogan ‘The Questioning Person’.

A highlight of the opening ceremony was a lecture by author Yoon Tae-young on the recently published biography of former President Roh Moo-hyun. The 928-page book was developed over ten years, utilizing approximately 160 private records from the Roh Moo-hyun Archives and 600 notebooks to provide a detailed account of his life and political journey.

In Suwon, the girl group Rescene has been appointed as ‘Suwon Promotional Inspectors’ to promote the 63rd Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival, which runs from October 4 to 11. The group will use social media and YouTube to showcase local attractions and the festival's various programs, which include traditional performances, media mapping, and historical reenactments related to King Jeongjo.
