South Korean cultural institutions launch new regional content initiatives
Cultural and natural resources in South Korea are being integrated through new local initiatives. In Gwangju, the Asia Culture Center (ACC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Mudeungsan National Park Office to develop joint content linking regional arts and tourism. The first collaborative project is a photography exhibition featuring Mudeungsan landscapes by five local artists, running from October 7 to November 8. Future plans include sound exhibitions utilizing environmental data and natural sounds collected from the park.
In Jeju, the 2026 Book Culture Club Festival was held at Sinsan Park. Organized by the Halla Library, the event focused on hosting relay discussions by ten local reading clubs to encourage deep engagement with literature. The festival aimed to move beyond traditional craft-based booths to provide citizens with opportunities to experience the value of reading and communal dialogue.
