South Korean districts host forest festivals for families

Various districts in South Korea are hosting forest festivals for families on October 17 to promote nature education and ecological awareness.

In Gangnam-gu, the ‘Toddler Forest Family Festival’ will take place at the Daemosan Toddler Forest Experience Center. Approximately 600 participants are expected to engage in activities such as creating spider webs with thread and wood, making scent pouches with dried petals, and crafting keyrings from recycled materials. The event also includes educational components regarding the protection of forest ecosystems, specifically advising against the unauthorized collection of acorns and chestnuts.

In Mapo-gu, the 13th annual ‘Toddler Forest Family Festival’ will be held at the Sangam Neighborhood Park Toddler Forest Experience Center. The event aims to host around 300 participants, including local daycare centers and families. Programs include hydroponic gardening, insect observation, and making wooden nameplates. Additional entertainment such as bubble shows, magic shows, and a mini-train will be available to enhance the experience.
