South Korean dramas see diverse 2026 releases

The South Korean drama industry continues to attract global audiences with a diverse range of upcoming and recent releases spanning action, fantasy, and psychological thrillers.

Notable 2026 releases include ‘Teach You a Lesson’, a Netflix original directed by Kim Yong-wan featuring Kim Mu-yeol as a former special forces agent fighting school bullying. Another high-profile title is ‘Agent Kim Reactivated’, an action-thriller starring Kim Myung-min that follows a former secret agent searching for his kidnapped daughter. Additionally, ‘Perfect Crown’ explores a modern alternative history involving a constitutional monarchy.

In the mystery and thriller genre, ‘Nine Puzzles’ follows a criminal profiler, played by Kim Da-mi, and a detective, played by Son Suk-ku, as they investigate a series of murders linked to a decade-old unsolved case. Other psychological thrillers like ‘Bloody Flower’ also contribute to the growing demand for complex, investigative storytelling in the K-drama market.
