South Korean entities drive AI integration in business and public sectors
PwC Consulting and the National Information Society Agency (NIA) are advancing artificial intelligence integration within corporate and public sectors in South Korea.
At a recent forum, PwC Consulting emphasized the necessity for companies to transition into ‘AI-native enterprises.’ Rather than simply using AI as a tool, leadership must redesign business processes, organizational structures, and human roles around AI. PwC noted that the top 20% of companies currently capture 74% of the economic value created by AI, a gap attributed to the depth of business redesign rather than just investment size.
Simultaneously, the NIA is accelerating AI transformation (AX) within the public sector. The agency aims to apply AI to administrative tasks and public services while enhancing the accessibility of public data. NIA is also focusing on digital inclusion for the elderly and disabled, strengthening national digital infrastructure, and supporting the implementation of AI-related laws and policies to foster a data-driven ecosystem.
