South Korean financial groups launch regional and wealth management initiatives

Major South Korean financial groups are expanding their engagement with local communities and high-net-worth clients through data analysis, wealth management, and small business support.

KB Financial Group released its '2026 KB Commercial District Vitalization Insight,' analyzing 1,200 commercial districts. The report highlights a significant economic gap: as of March, the average monthly revenue per store in regional districts was 17.51 million KRW, only about one-third of the 48.90 million KRW recorded in Seoul. Additionally, visitor numbers in regional areas averaged 31.6 per month, compared to 116.6 in Seoul. The report suggests improving policy budget efficiency and expanding private investment to revitalize these areas.

Shinhan Financial Group is scheduled to host its 'Shinhan Premier Pathfinder Hean 2026' asset management forum on January 31, inviting 1,000 clients with assets exceeding 1 billion KRW for market seminars and expert consultations.

Hana Financial Group has been conducting community service for small business owners in Myeong-dong, distributing supplies such as aprons and cleaning goods, while also providing support for energy-efficient equipment and online sales channels.
