South Korean firms expand physical AI robotics for farms and industry

Smart‑farm specialist Permit and robotics startup Beyond Robotics demonstrated a fully unmanned vertical‑farm solution at the 4th AFPRO 2026 exhibition in Seoul. The system combines eight years of strawberry cultivation data with Beyond Robotics’s “Physical AI” robot technology, using camera‑based “eyes”, AI‑driven “brain” and robotic‑arm “hands” to monitor plant health and harvest berries without human intervention. An energy‑saving LED cooling‑water system keeps temperature uniform, which the company says reduces electricity and labor costs by about 30% while increasing yield and premium‑grade product share.

Permit is pursuing export of the technology, with Uzbekistan, Malaysia and China identified as key overseas bases.

In a separate development, Megazone Cloud and Tesolo signed an MOU to jointly develop physical‑AI education and technology. The partnership will merge Megazone’s WISE platform with Tesolo’s AI gripper and humanoid‑hand products to create hands‑on training courses and co‑develop intelligent automation solutions for manufacturing, logistics and services.
