South Korean footballers perform well in European leagues

South Korean footballers achieved notable success in various European leagues on the 16th. In Portugal, FC Porto midfielder Hwang In-beom recorded his first league assist during his debut match. Coming on as a substitute in the 66th minute, Hwang provided the decisive assist in the 84th minute to help FC Porto secure a 2-0 victory over Rio Ave FC, keeping the defending champions at the top of the Primeira Liga.

In the English Championship, a ‘Korean Derby’ took place between Swansea City and Stoke City. Eom Ji-sung’s Swansea City secured a 2-1 comeback victory, placing them third in the league standings, while Bae Jun-ho’s Stoke City fell to 21st place.

In Switzerland, striker Lee Young-jun contributed to Grasshopper Club Zurich’s dominant 5-0 win against amateur side Regensdorf in the Swiss Cup. Lee scored the final goal of the match in the 80th minute to ensure his team's advancement to the next round.
