South Korean green tech firms target Australian energy market
Eight South Korean green technology companies are venturing into the Australian market to showcase expertise in hydrogen, energy efficiency, and resource circulation. Operating from January 26 to 31 in Melbourne, the ‘2026 Australia Green and Energy Green Industry Market Development Group’ aims to identify cooperation opportunities through exhibitions, export consultations, and technical exchanges.
The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Environment, KOTRA, the Korea Environmental Industry Association, and POSCO International. Participating companies will feature technologies such as AI-based energy management, hydrogen production and charging, waste heat utilization, and remanufactured battery materials.
As part of the mission, a Korean pavilion will be established at the ‘All Energy Australia 2026’ exhibition at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Additionally, a ‘Korea-Victoria Energy Forum’ will be held on January 29, involving the Victorian government to discuss energy market trends and collaboration. This move aligns with Australia's goal to reach 82% renewable energy in its main power grid by 2030, and Victoria's target of 95% by 2035.
