South Korean health centers launch Red Circle Campaign

Various health centers across South Korea are conducting the ‘Red Circle Campaign’ throughout September to promote the prevention and management of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. The campaign, initiated by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, encourages citizens to ‘know your vascular numbers’ by regularly monitoring blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels.

In Yangpyeong County, the health center is targeting the 20–40 age demographic by setting up ‘Red Circle Zones’ at local institutions to provide health consultations and measurements. Similarly, the Anyang Manan-gu Health Center is implementing mobile health challenges and on-site measurement zones at workplaces and local festivals to encourage health awareness across all age groups.

Additionally, Pohang Semyung Christianity Hospital held a specialized educational session for employees at POSCO PR Tech. The lecture emphasized the importance of managing risk factors like hypertension and diabetes to prevent serious conditions such as myocardial infarction and stroke through both primary and secondary prevention strategies.
