South Korean institutions partner on AI and Physical AI development

Handong Global University and POSCO DX have signed a mutual cooperation agreement to advance regional industrial development through joint research and development in AI and Physical AI. The partnership focuses on fields such as robot automation and smart factories, aiming to foster future talent through internships, graduate research, and employment links. POSCO DX CEO Sim Min-seok highlighted the company's focus on 'robotization'—using AI to handle complex decision-making in manufacturing environments to improve worker safety and efficiency.

In a separate regional initiative, Daegu hosted the 'Korea AI/Robot-Physical AI Industrial Innovation Forum.' The event brought together representatives from Daegu, Jeonbuk, and Gyeongsangnam-do to discuss building a cross-regional ecosystem for Artificial Intelligence Transformation (AX). The forum aimed to connect Daegu's AX research hubs, Jeonbuk's Physical AI software platforms, and Gyeongsangnam-do's manufacturing infrastructure to drive national manufacturing innovation.
