South Korean institutions partner to advance Physical AI and robotics
South Korean institutions are expanding collaborations to advance Physical AI and robotics technology through both academic training and industrial application.
Jeonju University has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Physical AI Association to cultivate specialized talent. The partnership aims to bridge the gap between education and industry by providing field training, internships, and employment links in the fields of Physical AI, robotics, and smart technologies. The collaboration will also include joint research and development of new technologies.
In a separate industrial initiative, Daim Research, IBM Korea, and the KAIST Manufacturing Physical AI Research Institute have partnered to commercialize Physical AI for manufacturing environments. This collaboration focuses on factory automation, smart logistics, predictive maintenance, and operational technology (OT) security. The group intends to integrate research-level technology into real-world industrial settings, utilizing KAIST’s research capabilities, IBM’s enterprise technology, and Daim Research’s field expertise to drive manufacturing innovation.
