South Korean lawmaker Ahn Cheol‑soo urges former President Moon Jae‑in to join real‑estate debate

People Power Party lawmaker Ahn Cheol‑soo called on the incoming real‑estate grand debate scheduled for May 23 to include former President Moon Jae‑in, ex‑Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Hyun‑mi, and former Blue House policy chief Kim Su‑hyun as panelists. He argued that the debate should examine past housing‑policy failures rather than serve as a promotional event.

Ahn cited more than 1,600 citizen proposals on the government website, emphasizing public anxiety over housing, and criticized the current administration for policies he says mirror the 28 housing measures introduced under Moon, which he labels all unsuccessful. He warned that without honest analysis, the debate could become a “mega‑real‑estate show” that fails to produce real solutions.
