South Korean man charged with torture and murder of girlfriend

A 24-year-old man, identified as Jeon, is facing murder charges in Seoul, South Korea, following the brutal death of his 28-year-old girlfriend. Investigators revealed that the victim was beaten 514 times over a period of three hours and 20 minutes in June.

Forensic examinations and autopsy results showed the victim suffered 21 broken ribs and multiple ruptured internal organs. Forensic experts have classified the attack as torture, noting that security footage from the couple's apartment was so disturbing that specialists found it difficult to watch.

While the suspect initially claimed the attack was an impulsive reaction to the victim's alleged lies, investigators uncovered evidence of prolonged physical abuse occurring at least six weeks prior to the fatal incident. Reports also indicate the suspect exhibited controlling behavior, including using riddle-like questions that the victim reportedly attempted to answer using AI.
