South Korean municipalities host events for Youth Day

Various local government initiatives in South Korea are scheduled to celebrate Youth Day on September 19, 2026, through festivals and lectures designed to support the growth and creativity of young people.

In Yeoju, the Yeoju Youth Activity Support Center ‘Purut’ will host a two-day event from September 18 to 19 titled ‘Clumsy but Firmly Ripening.’ Held in collaboration with the local youth startup hub ‘Uncle Bread,’ the program includes food, merchandise, and hands-on experiences such as Jesmonite coloring to encourage local youth aged 18 to 39.

In Dongjak-gu, the ‘1st Youth Creative Culture Festival’ will feature a special lecture by Park Chun-hyu, the first Korean to win Tony Awards for musical composition, lyrics, and book. Park will share his journey from working in New York to achieving international success, aiming to provide inspiration to young creators. The festival will also include various performances, exhibitions, and markets organized by local youth.
