South Korean municipalities host various local festivals and community events

Various regions in South Korea are hosting community-focused festivals and events throughout late October.

In Gwirae-myeon, the 10th Harmony and Culture Festival is scheduled for October 30 at the Unnam 1-ri public parking lot. The event, organized by the Gwirae-myeon Resident Autonomy Committee, features performances by local clubs, a marching band, and a singing contest.

In Gwangju, Buk-gu is holding its first Citizen's Day event since the launch of the 9th civil election on October 30. The program includes a festival of resident autonomy programs, an awards ceremony, and a concert featuring singer Jung Dong-ha. The district is also implementing eco-friendly practices by providing 11,000 reusable containers for food booths.

Other regional activities include the 2026 Small Business Harmony Festival in Goyang, which aims to revitalize local alleyway economies, and the 2026 Suwon Cup National Badminton Tournament, which brings together enthusiasts from across the country to promote community sports.
