South Korean municipalities receive top honors in welfare administration evaluations
Several South Korean local governments have been recognized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare for excellence in their 2025 community security plan implementation.
Gyeonggi Province received the Grand Prize, marking its seventh consecutive year as an excellent institution. The province was specifically noted for its comprehensive care policies, including services for crisis situations, emergency childcare, and support for disabled individuals and their families.
Incheon Metropolitan City earned the Grand Prize in the metropolitan category for the second consecutive year. The city was praised for its systematic support of district-level plans and its strong public-private cooperation. Additionally, Yeonsu-gu received an Excellence Award, while Bupyeong-gu received a Special Award.
Iksan City was also recognized as an excellent municipality for the 11th consecutive year. The city's success is attributed to its proactive welfare systems, such as the 'Zoom-in Talk' mobile reporting network and the 'Dairoum Food Truck' program, which provides meals to vulnerable populations.
