South Korean one-person media revenue reaches 1.1 trillion won

Data from the National Tax Service reveals that the one-person media industry in South Korea is experiencing rapid growth and significant income concentration. According to tax data provided to Representative Jung Tae-ho, the total reported income for one-person media corporations reached 1.1134 trillion won.

Analysis shows that the top 10% of these corporations, consisting of 207 entities with annual incomes exceeding 1 billion won, accounted for 76% of the total reported revenue (842.7 billion won). In contrast, the remaining 1,817 corporations earned only 24% of the total. The number of high-earning corporations has grown nearly ninefold since 2021.

The number of individual business operators in this sector has also surged, increasing from 9,633 in 2021 to over 36,600 in 2025. Representative Jung emphasized the need to refine tax management systems and secure stable tax information from overseas platforms to ensure fairness among taxpayers as the industry's profit structures diversify.
