South Korean organizations deploy AI for fire investigation and safety
South Korean organizations are increasingly integrating artificial intelligence to enhance safety and investigation efficiency. The Korea Electrical Safety Corporation has developed an AI-powered application capable of identifying the causes of electrical fires in under 10 seconds, a process that previously took up to 10 days. By analyzing images of melted wires through a smartphone and portable microscope, the app achieves a 95% accuracy rate and has been used in approximately 5,700 cases across 90 fire stations.
In a separate development, the Incheon Environmental Corporation has partnered with the Korea Chemical Safety Association to implement generative AI for safety training. This collaboration focuses on using AI to automate risk assessments and improve field safety management. The initiative aims to enhance employees' ability to identify hidden hazards and prevent accidents through specialized training programs and data-driven analysis.
