South Korean palaces announce autumn night viewing programs

Major Korean palaces, Changdeokgung and Gyeongbokgung, will host special night viewing programs during the autumn season to showcase historical heritage and traditional performing arts.

Changdeokgung Palace will hold its ‘Moonlight Tour’ from September 10 to October 17. The program includes guided walks through the palace gardens, traditional music performances, and reenactments of royal processions. Participation is limited to 3,864 people via a lottery system, with applications opening on August 20. Specific sessions are also designated for foreign visitors in English, Chinese, and Japanese.

Gyeongbokgung Palace will be open for night viewing from September 2 to October 2. The program features 15 sessions of royal court music and dance performances by the National Gugak Center. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis starting August 26, with a daily limit of 3,000 tickets. Free admission is provided to certain groups, including seniors over 65, individuals wearing Hanbok, and persons with disabilities.
