In response, Lee filed a defamation complaint against Democratic Party lawmaker Park Ji-won, denying claims that she characterized the event as a North Korean operation.

Simultaneously, intense scrutiny continues over several ministerial nominees. People Power Party leadership has called for the withdrawal of Justice Minister nominee Kim Seung-won, citing various allegations including illegal lobbying and recruitment irregularities. They warned that proceeding with his appointment could lead to a significant decline in presidential approval ratings.

Democratic Party Floor Leader Han Byung-do also addressed ongoing political friction, criticizing the conduct of recent confirmation hearings and urging the Supreme Court to resolve vacancies in the judiciary by promptly responding to requests for re-nominating justice candidates.
