South Korean police arrest 10 in bus luggage drug ring
The Masan Dongbu Police Station has arrested 10 individuals involved in a drug distribution ring that used intercity bus luggage services to transport methamphetamine across South Korea. The group included one seller, two suppliers, and seven buyers or users.
According to police, the seller, a man in his 60s, sent approximately 38.3 grams of methamphetamine through 45 separate shipments via bus terminals between August and December of last year. The investigation, triggered by a tip-off in September, led to the seizure of methamphetamine and cannabis in quantities sufficient for approximately 1,820 simultaneous uses.
Seven of the suspects have been detained. Authorities have also taken measures to freeze approximately 21 million won in criminal proceeds. For users without prior drug offenses, police are coordinating with the Korea Anti-Drug Campaign Foundation to provide treatment and rehabilitation support.
