Democratic Party Policy Committee Chair Han Jeong-ae characterized the suggestion as a "happening," noting that the idea was personal rather than an official party policy and is practically unfeasible in South Korea due to extreme seasonal weather and lack of available space. However, lawmaker Park Jie-won criticized the party's response, urging that the matter be treated as a serious mistake requiring a proper apology rather than being dismissed as a mere happening.
