South Korean President Lee Jae-myung's approval rating falls to 35.3%

Recent polling by Realmeter indicates a decline in President Lee Jae-myung's approval rating, which fell to 35.3%, a 2%p decrease from the previous week. Negative evaluations reached 62.3%. The decline was noted across various demographics, including significant drops among voters in Seoul, the Incheon-Gyeonggi region, and the Honam area. In terms of party support, the People Power Party (42.6%) has overtaken the Democratic Party (36.0%) by a margin outside the margin of error, marking the first time this has occurred in approximately four months.

Analysts attribute the downward trend to economic uncertainties regarding the stock market, housing issues, and North Korean tensions. Additionally, criticisms have been directed at the President's governance style, specifically his heavy reliance on social media and perceived lack of communication with various political sectors.
