South Korean regional institutions host successful family musical performances

Regional cultural institutions in South Korea are hosting successful family musical performances to enhance local cultural access and promote community engagement.

In Boeun, the Boeun County Library presented the participatory fantasy musical ‘The Monster That Eats Bad Words.’ Based on a children's fairy tale, the production aimed to teach children the importance of positive language habits and the joy of reading through an interactive experience.

In Yeongdeok, the Yeongdeok Culture and Tourism Foundation concluded a successful run of the musical ‘Super Turtle, Super Rabbit’ at the Yeju Arts Center. Attracting approximately 1,000 spectators, the production was part of a regional performance distribution support project. The event also served as a driver for local tourism, with about 400 visitors traveling from outside the county, utilizing local discount programs to encourage spending at nearby restaurants and cafes.
