South Korean regional programs use puppet shows for child health and environmental education

Local organizations in South Korea are utilizing puppet shows to educate children on health and environmental management.

In Uiseong County, officials conducted training for puppet show activists to teach children about preventing atopy, asthma, and allergic rhinitis. The program uses a performance titled ‘Atopy, Begone!’ to demonstrate proper bathing and moisturizing techniques. Starting in September, these activists will visit daycare centers and kindergartens designated as atopy and asthma relief schools.

Separately, Sung Ga Rollo Hospital hosted an environmental puppet show for approximately 170 children from local daycare centers. The program, organized in collaboration with the Korea Environment Corporation, focused on teaching correct medication usage, proper disposal of medicine, and recycling practices to promote carbon neutrality and healthy lifestyle habits.
