South Korean regions hold events for Social Welfare Day

Various regions in South Korea held events to commemorate the 27th Social Welfare Day, focusing on honoring social welfare and health workers and promoting community services.

In Buan County, a social welfare and health expo was held to introduce various welfare policies and services to residents. The event included promotional booths, experiential programs, and a special lecture by Professor Lee Ho-seon regarding family and relationships. Buan County Mayor Kwon Ik-hyeon expressed gratitude to workers for their dedication to protecting the health and safety of neighbors.

In Gangwon State, the 25th Gangwon State Social Welfare Convention took place in Yanggu, attended by approximately 1,000 participants, including social welfare officials, volunteers, and residents. The convention featured a vision declaration ceremony for Gangwon welfare and awards for individuals and organizations contributing to social service. Gangwon Governor Woo Sang-ho emphasized the importance of welfare in a region with a high elderly population and a geographically dispersed community, pledging to improve working conditions for welfare professionals.
