South Korean remake of Cattle Run premieres
The South Korean remake of the film Cattle Run, titled Jung Brothers' Family in Korean, has premiered. Directed by Kim Ji-hyun and produced by Yong Film, the story follows two brothers who have not spoken for 30 years but reunite to protect a miraculous calf when their village faces a major challenge.
The production follows a long development process after filming began in 2021. The original film, Cattle Run, gained international acclaim after winning the Un Certain Regard prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2015 and receiving over 30 international awards. While an Australian remake starring Sam Neill was released in 2020, this South Korean version marks the directorial debut of Kim Ji-hyun.
