South Korean securities firms enhance pension and digital services

South Korean securities firms are intensifying efforts to enhance pension asset management services and digital investment tools. Shinhan Securities has established a dedicated pension customer management team to provide lifecycle-based services, including ‘Welcome Calls’ for new DC and IRP subscribers and one-on-one matching with expert private bankers. Korea Investment & Securities has overhauled its pension mobile trading system (MTS) to integrate asset inquiry, investment, and management into a single ‘Pension Home’ interface.

Other industry developments include iM Securities launching a fractional trading service for KOSPI 200 and KOSDAQ 150 stocks, allowing investments starting from 1,000 KRW. Eugene Investment & Securities is conducting year-end tax saving and asset management events targeting younger investors. Additionally, LS Securities is hosting an investment strategy seminar for individual investors to address market uncertainty.

On an international level, the Korea Financial Investment Association is participating in the 39th International Investment Fund Association (IIFA) annual meeting in Toronto, Canada. The association aims to discuss global fund industry issues, including international regulation, digital advisory expansion, and long-term investment transitions. The association also plans to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Japan Asset Management Association to facilitate information and personnel exchange.
