South Korean securities firms expand AI services and retail bond offerings

South Korean securities firms are expanding AI-driven investment services and retail products. Mirae Asset Securities is conducting October subscriptions for individual savings bonds with a total issuance of 230 billion won. The 10-year bond issuance has been increased to 150 billion won, while 5-year and 20-year bond volumes have decreased.

Korea Investment & Securities is hosting a domestic stock investment competition through October, featuring an ‘Open API League’ that integrates the generative AI ‘Claude’ to help users design trading strategies without coding. Meanwhile, DB Financial Investment is holding a seminar on investment strategies for the ‘Physical AI’ era, focusing on robotics and autonomous driving.

On an institutional level, the Korea Financial Investment Association has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Japan Asset Management Association (IMAJ) to strengthen cooperation. The partnership aims to facilitate employee exchanges, information sharing regarding asset management markets and regulations, and the hosting of joint seminars and workshops.
