South Korean startups and K-brands focus on global expansion

Various business and technology events are scheduled in South Korea for mid-September 2026, focusing on startup growth and global expansion. Key highlights include the K-Beauty Summit 2026, which provides strategies for brands to enter global markets via platforms like Amazon and TikTok Shop, and the 2026 Agri-food Startup Contest finals, where top startups compete for the Presidential Award.

Other scheduled activities include the Global University Venture Forum hosted by Seoul National University, focusing on AI and robotics, and the 2026 Maritime and Fisheries Startup Contest. Additionally, the Chungnam Venture Investment Forum will feature IR presentations from startups in the mobility, AI, and energy sectors.

In a separate commercial development, Colosseum Corporation and KBS Japan successfully held the ‘ICU Con in Tokyo’ in Japan. This event aimed to convert K-pop fandom into consumer action by linking idol performances with product experiences from 15 K-beauty, fashion, and health brands. The project integrates content IP with logistics and e-commerce platforms like Qoo10 to support small and medium-sized enterprises in their overseas market entry.
